Ballo 'is a traditional drink in the form of sugar fermentation are usually served in a bamboo tube. This is a home-made consisting of smaller amounts of alcohol made from palm trees leads (Nira in the local language). The sap is extracted and collected from palm flowers are cut where a container attached to the stem of the tree. White fluid that appear first tend to be very sweet and contains no alcohol before fermented.
There are two flavors of this drink; sweet and sour. Depending on the fermentation process and the quality of the palm tree itself.


The traditional drink is usually served at ceremonial (rambu Tuka '& rambu Solo') in which all family members gathered. This drink is believed to maintain body temperature heat in the body, increase energy and prolong life
