TRADITIONAL HOUSE TORAJA
Tongkonan is a traditional house of Toraja people.
The roof resembles a boat, made up of bamboo structure (currently the majority
tongkonan using tin roof). At the front there is a row of buffalo horns. The
indoor portion used as a bed and dapur.berasal of words tongkon (meaning sit
together). Tongkonan divided by level or role in society (social stara Toraja
people). In front there tongkonan granary, called 'grass'. The pillars of this
granary made from palm tree trunks (banga) today partly already casted. At the
front of the barn there are a variety of carvings, including a picture of a
chicken and sun (called pa'bare 'allo), which is a symbol for a settlement to
the case.
Particularly in Sillanan-Pemanukan (Tallu
Lembangna) known as Ma'duangtondok are tongkonan namely Tongkonan Karua (eight
houses tongkonan) and Tongkonan A'pa '(four home tongkonan) which plays a role
